We =do= live in a fat, spoiled nation, that much is true, but we're spoiled because we rely on slave states to produce cheap goods for us.
You assume that (a) the US has never actively supported dictatorship ( =ahem= Chile1979! *cough, cough* ), or terrorism (Contra's attacking 'soft targets' and priests in Latin America in the 80's); and (b) that we always act altruistically ... you are missing some vital chunks of history, my friend. This war is not about democracy, at least not the democracy you understand. This is about invading the heart of Arabic nations (state-controlled economies), and turning them into "free-market" capitalist fiefdoms of US corporations. Get a clue.
