Exterminate Jews vs. exterminate queers or blacks
Germany's Social Democrats were in bed with the
leaders of "industry"...and yet...the American
GOP (God's Own Party?) helped to abolish slavery,
and Jefferson's Democrat Party was the party of
"small government"

It is not possible to draw significant parallels
between past party performance and present day
affiliations/platforms, much less to compare the
demagogue ideaologies of wartime Germany with
the current state of the US.
But you could devote some time to noting some
similarities based upon tolerance (lack of) and flag-waving
"patriotism" as these are both easily manifest
in our basest behaviours (as they were in the
fearful post WWI Germany)
