I have a question for fossil_digger and the other long time regulars. I lurked for some time before I started to contribute both in comments and uploads. When I did start, I got some encouragement(at least I think it was) because the material I contributed was different from the usual stuff, so I posted more of the same vein (yes, I collect wallpapers). Now it seems All I get is flamed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a thin-skinned Mama's-boy. I firmly believe in the right of expression. As I see it, those who can, do; those who cannot, teach; and those who have no clue, become critics. I degress though.
Anyway, here is my query. I understand that the basic foundation of this site is a forum of anything--within reason--goes; however, I also understand an online global-community of regulars has been loosly established with its own mores. What does this community of identified regulars consider acceptible, and what does it consider lame? With this info, I will be able to not waste server space.
Oh yes, to save some people some time, here are a few stats. I am a forty-one year-old college-educated blue-collar worker who lives in the United States in the state of mind known as Tennessee--famous for Elvis, UT Vols, Scopes Monkey Trial, and an actual law that allows you to legally eat roadkill.

it does'nt matter what you load if someone here does'nt agree with your political views, then they give you a 1. pretty funny! like that's supposed to hurt or something. some of the best photos i've loaded have gotten straight 1's from a couple dipsticks, oh ouch! there are a few things that i will give only 1's to: n______r head dumbass b.s. and all phtoshoped pics. along with anything to do with anime. I do however rate everything else appropriately.

oh yeah the teaching comment is stupid, because people choose to teach. i choose to no longer teach, but to expand my own mind. my recent endeavors are for the sake of knowledge. not only for myself, but for others. i've made $ in many different ways. now it's time to give some back. i don't expect to make much $ doing what i do, but it's what i love. can you say that? probably not! i will not advertise here because it's obvious not many people here care about geology, archaeology, or paleontology. at least the bush bashers have quieted down some. knock on wood.

Actually, I do enjoy my job. No desk or 9 to 5 I was heading in that direction, but discovered that no amount of money or pestige would make me happy or allow me to sleep easily at night. As for the teaching comment, I meant no offense. As for your areas of knowledge, bring it on. It sounds facinating.

I used anonymous for ages because I have major problems logging in using either Safari or Firefox on a mac. My old logins don´t seem to work and I am sure this one won´t either if I turn the comp off & on again (Ihave never logged out with this username, that is why it works). And login names were only here because the admin thought it good that people could identify themselves when, back then, lots of people were having their names stolen and abused.

90130 is always 90130 presumably because that person is connected by broadband, if you dial up (poor you) your id changes all the time.

Your're right, F_D, it DOES taste like chicken. I have been thinking hard about what I would use as a login ID, and will make my decision soon. I do applaud the rather unprecedented decision some of you have made to post actual pictures of yourselves, which does add a bit of a warm, personal touch when you are directing insults at another person. Alas, I'm not very photogenic, and many have likened my appearance to one that appears rather stark and unemotional. A former girlfriend said I had a friendly face, but then I had to kill her.
