we need more information in order to make a more, uh, imformed decision...
will there be vegetables served with the chicken?
will there be any rice or potatoes witht the chicken?
perhaps some gravy will be included?
maybe a biscuit?
and what of this spaghetti, will there be a sauce?
will be a tomato based sauce?
perhaps you will serve pesto over the spaghetti noodles?
and what about meatballs?
will there be garlic bread?
what time should we be there and should we bring anything??

I would suggest spaghetti. I fix mine with a sturdy tomato and meat sauce using whole Roma and sun dried tomatoes, fresh oregano, rosemary, garlic and red chiles for a little zest. Buy some fresh Italian bread and slice it thick, then spread on some minced garlic and butter. Brown lightly in the oven and serve hot. A good red wine and a leafy salad round things out nicely. Let's face it man...Chicken is boring. That is, unless you have it prepared in a Thai curry or Indian Tandoori.

the chicken i was planning on is BBQ'D with rice-a-roni and blackeyed peas. maybe green beans (whole) or ranch style beans
my spaghetti is a secret recipe with tons of garlic, meat sauce, parmesan cheese. 3 different pastas mixed in.

Think I'll go out for dinner tonight. A nice restaurant, some good wine.. and I'll have neither chicken nor spaghetti.

You should all try drinking liquid draino.

Hey, pulse, if he eats both he'll end up looking like me (image/33127).

Kirsty, it is a shame that you're in the UK while digger's in the USA, but isn't it also wonderful that we have this ability to bring so many people from such distant places together in this forum to form relationships, whether good or bad, and state our views (as well as post some wonderful views) with such freedom. When my father was born the horse was the major means of private transportation and the telephone was still a luxury item - now look at us less than 100 years later. This rocks!

Digger - spaghetti, man. You can get all the major food groups in one dish and it's a great equalizer 'cause everyone looks like a fool eating it. Of course, it can be quite a challenge to look good eating chicken, too. Personally I gave up trying to look good - too much effort for such a small return when you look like me.
