I hope it is the Kiwis. We have the best sailors in the world. We just need a boat to match.

The America's Cup.. always involves tidal waters. That's the thing with sailing around the ocean.

Point of order: it's not America's Cup (much as they'd like it to be), it's the Americas Cup.
I understand that English is not your mother tongue, Mkc, but this is one where the apostrophe changes everything.

I don't agree with you anonymous, neither do the organisers of the last offical America's cup (see [www.americascup.com]).
Furthermore, if you know a little of the history of the cup, then you must know that it was named "America's cup" after its first winner, a yacht called "America". You cand find details on this history also in the web site I indicated above...I can't believe you never heard this story before!

Mkcerusky, people don´t care about the real story behind these sorts of things, take the World Series for example. I hear all the time that americans are so full of shit for calling it the world series when only they are in it, yet any country is free to enter. It just so happens the only country good at baseball is the US. So it is always US teams in the final. Makes fucking sense don´t you think. And it´s not the Scot´s Monument, it´s the Scott Monument. Thats a point of order too.

however the name of the competition is "America's cup" and not "Americas cup" officially and unofficially
