Australian Open Tennis: Is Lleyton Hewitt's behaviour bad sportsmanship or raw emotion? I personally hate his antics but admire his tenacity and skills on the court.

Damn you I was going to say that smiling smiley

Hewitt is a great player, however he should probably tone down on the yelling. That said, what about that Russian chick that grunts every time she gets near the ball?

And how do you tone it down? 3 less "come on"'s a game?

Tim Henham is supposedly our nations best player so you should be thankful you have a player like hewitt

Bob, I think you mean Tim Henman, and be grateful at least you have a player in the top 100. New Zealand is not known for its tennis.

I think that players should be allowed to react how they want on court as long as they are not putting off their opponent. That does not mean as an individual I have to like it. Personally, I don't like Hewitt's antics on court, but what does it really matter if he does act that way?

Hewitt and Philopousis are bad images of what you would call good Australian Tennis. Shouting at the umpire, pumping up his own personal cheer squad - and winning a match, a `true blue hero` what the... ? He can't aknowledge good sportsmanship from James Blake denying he had ever seen such a display and hogging all the spotlight? I wouldn't call a true Australian Tennis Player Lleyton Hewitt - He is anything but this.

He has to play Roddick today... now we'll see if those antics work.

Welp, he beat Roddick too, and has made his way into the final against Marat Safin.

Can't be all bad.

Safin will pulverise him - hewitt can do all his fist pumping and c'mons, and he'll still lose. I don't believe its his so called 'destiny' to win his home Open - to half the nation he doesn't stand up for what being a true Australian is.

Hewitt is a little ****

Hewitt and Safin have played against each other 10 times.

They've each had 5 victories.

It'll be an interesting game

*COME ON* Hewitt! The plus613 team is going for you, not only is he playing in Melbourne, the capital of +613, but he's also an AUSSIE!

Oh well, half way through the 3rd set Hewitt looked like he had it sewn up, however congratulations to Safin on his victory in the Australian open.

At least Australia is winning in the cricket smiling smiley

I think that's the way Australian's play their games. I think Aussie cricket team is also notorious for their sledging on field.
Today also Hewit lost momentum after pointing figre to a line umpire at the end of good rally. He was up 3-0 in the third set. It was all down hill from then on...May be that was his 'destiny'

Being from New Zealand, it gives me great pleasure to see an Aussie lose. We have t-shirts with the logo "I support New Zealand and any team playing Australia."

And yet *GAK67* you regularly view a site run by Aussies.. What if we firewalled off New Zealand from plus613, would that give me pleasure? Maybe a little but it would certainly make us very unsociable.

lleyton's on court antics a good example to our youth of what sportsmanship is? as they say, there are two sides to every story and this is no exception. i believe that lleytons behaviour is nothing more than a psych up for himself. how else would he struggle through the pain of running 70ks in 2 weeks. and in any sport you play, there is always going to be arguments with the umpire. i see that he has done nothing wrong and that his sportsmanship is actually in top quality. i do see where people come from when they say our youth are starting to act like lleyton still yet they seem to battle on playing tennis trying to walk in lleytons steps. i'm sure if we were in lletons position, we all too would love to be psyching ourselves up in order to win those millions. if winning isn't important, why keep the score.
