It's actually an interesting cultural question. I mean that transgendered people are increasing. Sure there are still very few, but they are more than represented in the dirty pages of your local weekly paper (in the U.S. at least, where "escorts" advertise for prostitution). There is no shortage of men who are interested in seeking them out for freaky sex. What does this mean? Men are finally trying to get past all the barriers that have been put in their path to experiencing a male sort of love? (made acceptable or approachable with breasts ((nurturing, something we all need)) ? ) Or there are people who find that they are actually mentally hermaphrodites and feel "best" expressing both kinds of sexuality at once? (yang and yin) Or are these people trying to transition to another gender (again, why?) and trying to make some money to finish the operation? -- But larger than these immediate questions, is the fact that America is (a) totally hung up on sex, both hating it and loving it simultaneously (thank you Xtianity), and (b) has a significant number of people who are willing to push the boundaries of sexuality. However weird you may think it is, and clearly from comments many think it IS weird, it is a phenomenon that is not going away anytime soon. Apparently.

I have met several. Some are definitely "perverts" but the majority are very cool people who are very misunderstood. Many of them are from other countries, and are living in the US because where they are from, they would be killed for being transgender. From a psychological perspective, feeling as though you were born with the wrong gender body must be a terrible experience. Reassingment surgery is incredibly expensive, so many of them do not have the option to fully make the change, and are stuck, so to speak, with both parts/sexes.
