Well, not all but the most recent are. Clicking on one I got access is forbidden, classified as pornography. I've tried two different machines and three different browsers.
Yep, the site is fine, the new firewall/filter appliance at work is confirmed to be the culprit. Too bad, too, I'm stuck on dialup at home. Oh well. At least I can still get to the site and forums at work, just no pics. The bastards.
An ISP cannot restrict what you see on screen. They can only filter mail that goes through their mail.ispname.com domain. Sounds like your workplace has an IT nazi that has control of your workplace firewall. You could ask him to add plus613.net to the whitelist, it's worth a try.
Dial-up?..What's that?
The ISP I am referring to is a government appointed entitiy that supplies my workplace with "high-speed" internet access. It is in a public education environment and by the edict of US Federal CIPA laws they have to filter content to "protect" students from exposure to "unsavory" web content and apparently Plus613 now falls into that content determination (wonder why - duh?). Under the old filter system Plus613 passed or I could even override it as an admin if I had to (and no, I didn't have to), but with the new "smart" appliance they now have in place I can connect to Plus and the forums, even see some comments, but now *all* the pics are blocked and they have taken local control from us. I can't override it. My tax dollars at work. I can't even get to Redmeat or Maddox now, for Pete's sake!
I live out in the boondocks, a beautiful place, wonderful down-home folks, but DSL is cost-prohibitive and cable is not avaialable, so Im stuck on 56K dialup.
This is probably not because plus613 is banned, but porn613 is.
Our images load off "images.porn613.com" - which is why you can still see the plus613 site fine, but *.porn613.com has been banned. We've been intending to move off that domain for the images for a while now, so I guess we can look into it further.
The problem is separating the two sites out to 2 different image domains, as if we still load the porn site's images off the same hostname then the same thing will happen again.
Anonymous@125244 - Who said anything about trying to get porn at work? No, I'm not a teacher, I'm a network admin, and even if I was cruising for porn it would be to find and report unblocked sites to our ISP. I look at fun stuff on breaks and when I'm bored waiting for the damn computers to finish doing what I told them to. Learn to read and follow a discussion, asswipe.
