I have decided to give all anonymous picture posters 1 star no matter what they post and i think all regular registered users should do the same to encourage registration.

I think a rule should me made that you are registered to post an image.

I don't care about comments as I don't reply to flames by anon posters.

This is a great little community, if you want to remain anonymous you must have something to hide, registration takes 1 minute.

I registered this name as a joke now I am stuck on here with the same name as Australia's leader.

Complete and utter nonsense. Anonymous posters simply don't bother to register. It makes not one whit of difference since posters who do create accounts, unless they use their real names, are *still anonymous*.

You can always register with a hotmail account or even a fake email address, since the only use the email address has is for password recovery (we don't email you, even at account creation stage). If you're confident you won't lose your login details, you don't have to use a real email address.

As for why the number after names changes, it's based on your IP address, which if you're on dialup or dynamic IP broadband will change regularly. It's actually the last 2 digits of your IP address. You might be able to find out what your ip address is by going start -> run -> "cmd" and then typing "ipconfig" at the DOS prompt.

If you had an IP address of, say, 140.25.169.30 (that's just a random address) the number after your name would be 16930. Because IP addressing goes up to 255.255.255.255 you are, in theory, sharing your number (ie 16930) with 65535 others on the internet. That said, somebody with the last 2 digits of 20.31 you will have the same number as somebody with 203.1 as well, etc etc. It was just a very simple way of distinguishing users before we brought in login accounts so it was easy to see if somebody had stolen somebody else's name.

As for banning posts from anonymous users altogether.. maybe. We'll see.

If forced to register, it'd be something I'd have to consider carefully. I enjoy the sites and try to post thoughtfully, but my first predispostion would be to pass.

This is a damn high traffic site, and you wouldn't miss one poster at all, but I'd ask you not to do it in order to preserve the integrity of your original vision. Even though I don't think that "porn" was part of it, it's well established that it rules the subconcious minds of nearly everyone and the fucked up mess we see in the real world is the spectacularly diversely different ways people deal (or don't) with it. Regardless of if you're givin' it or gettin' it.

If it stops tomorrow, thanks to you and Darkklown. Plus and Porn 613 are best things about the Internet (entertainment and diversion categories) that Ive seen I just about don't remember when....

Hehe. You're correct, you're never 100% anonymous. But you're as anonymous (to us) right now as if you had a registered account. The only detail we can see about you is your IP address (which we have to be able to see, as does every website on earth or it can't send you data). Blame the TCP/IP protocol To that end, we can see your IP as anonymous, or as a registered user. There's no difference.

The donation process is, to us, anonymous. We can't see any details about you, but PayPal would record your credit card number for the transaction. That said, the fuckers have suspended my paypal account this week anyway because apparently porn613.com carries 'unsavory content'.. so I don't even think we can get donations at the moment.

I'm pleased to see your comments though, they're much appreciated. Ultimately, denying users access to the site if they're not registered is absolutely not on the cards. The only debate (and it's coming from the users, not us) is to stop anonymous users posting images/comments. I can see their points, a lot of anonymous people post a lot of crap. There are, however, numerous that don't.

To be honest though, I don't really consider this my site. I try to make it not my place to make policy. This site belongs to its users, it's what they make it - be that a good place, or bad. We just try to provide an empty canvass for you all. We try VERY strongly not to have to police anything (the only things we remove are obvious spam and, on porn613 anything with minors or people who look like they are).

I've always been aware that you (Pulse and the other admins) know who's posting what pics and where they come from,
and that you's guys actually have far more information about the visitors to this site than you let on.

What I respect about the admins on this site is; you sit back and watch the events of a posting unravel(eg; an anonymous posting of a pic which is extremely controversial) and not sticking your nose in and saying "Hey!That anonymous poster is actually such and such.........."

Sure......I've been guilty of posting porn pics on plus613, knowing full well that they're gonna be removed, but the admins (up till now)just go about their buisness of bringing in the dust pan from time to time and cleaning up the site, without bagging out or divulging information about the indivduals who have postings removed.

I understand, that this exercise may be a pain in the ass for them,
on the other hand, I see that allowing posters to remain anonymous, gives them the opportunity to post stuff that they would probably not do if they were identifiable. And the ability to do that can add real colour to some of the subjects! (Colour? did someone mention Da Nigga Head?)

Lol! anyway, the only thing which pisses me and many of the other regulars off, is anonymous posters who FLAME others on this site.
That's where I believe the power of remaining anonymous is abused.

So, is it too much to ask the admins to remove anonymous flames (I mean outright attacks and out of context abuse....I'm not asking you to play God),or is it just easier to get everyone to register?
