why isn't there/will there ever be some method of individual users to flag posts for review. it would quickly put an end to the pedophiliac and the racist posts. i understand there's freedom of speech and i'm not recommending random people be able to take posts down but sometimes it seems to take a while to notice some particularly terrible things. i say this simply because i have a few australian friends so there's some interest to how things work there and from seeing some of the things here it tends to influence you towards the negative. i'm not sure if this is like a fringe site or the average australian is aware of it but it tends to reflect the worst rumors of society there. i don't apply what i see here to everyone there but sometimes it's hard not to.

I was thinking awhile back to setup something along to lines of allowing users with high points to be able to do such a flag system but it never came about. Personally i hate when i see things like racist comments etc on the site but am loathed to remove them (unless they are really bad) because it's hard to draw the line of whats acceptable (have a bad enough time with images let along txt) and really i don't want to spend my time on this site administrating what is said.

The system we have atm is if people have a problem with an image or a comment etc they need to email the abuse addy with details of what they find offensive, it is then reviewed on a case by case basis as to what to do with the comment/image.

Also atm any images that are uploaded to plus613 that contains nudity in a pornographic sense are removed as they are found (they belong on porn613). Of course we can't be reviewing everything that's uploaded, as it's uploaded, because our bosses wouldn't want to be paying us to do that. (yes we have jobs that have nothing to do with this site)

I'm interested in maybe setting up some kinda user level where different people would have different access rights but it would be a fair amount of code and I just don't have to time unless it's really required. If in the future we see it as a stronger issue than it currently is I may spend a weekend making the changes.

Also you need to realise that alot of the users that do post pedophiliac and the racist comments do so in a childish attempt to get a rise out of people. Best way to stop it would be for people to ignore them.

Setting up some kind of user blacklist (so once u blacklist someone u don't see posts or images they have uploaded, but the rest of the site can) would be something more feasible in the near future.

why not just use the score system?
if enough people give the image a really low score then it gets removed, they can do this either because of the image or because of the txt content.
this could combat users like poxy_cunt who insists on posting loads of not only offensive but also very badly done photoshops, there must be about 50 only 2 of which are actually vaguely entertaining.
