My Dear Edgar. Since January 26th I've seen countless hours of tsunami-related news footage, but it wasn't until I saw that photo that I truly appreciated the destruction that took place that day. Your tired old "in memory of the dead" platitude rings about as sincere as the sombre faces put on by the news-anchors who regale us each night at six'o'clock with the escalating death count. Each of us does with the memories of those who have passed on as each of us wishes. To assume that the photo in question was posted out of disrespect, and likewise that every person who views the photo is doing so out of disrespect, is to assume the worst of your fellow man -- no less a sin that what your yourself accuse of.

I'm sorry, I too believe the picture should stay. As much as I'd heard about the disaster on the news, the spiralling death toll, etc, the sheer magnitude of what has happened doesn't really hit home until you see an image like this.

I have every respect for those who lost their lives, and mean no disrespect by leaving this image on the site, however it will not be removed.

If you really wish to help these people, please donate to one of the countless charities who are helping in the region at this time.
