Ok so as you guys might have seen our new hosting company are a bunch of fucktards and disabled our account after only a day. Even tho we didn't break any STATED limitations of the contract aparently being able to 'reserve the right' means that anyone that has more than a picture of their cat as a homepage is too complex a website to host.

We've moved back to the old place and i'm digging deep to pay for another month of hosting while we look elsewhere.

In the meantime i've decided to start a fresh. I'm dropping all the old code for the site and going to rewrite from scratch. I have a much better idea on how I want the site to look and run.

Porn613 will be stripped back to bare minimun. I'll be getting rid of voting and all stats (other than view counts).

Plus613 will stay about the same.

I'll also be adding some new stuff to the site (like skins!) and pushing things like language support (if you speak english and another language and wouldn't mind translating a page or 2 of text please email me at [email protected]). I'm also going to be looking at using ajax around the site to speed up certain aspects.

If other people have ideas for features that you'd like to see let me know.

DK,

The 613's had become something of a minor web icon, I'd thought. A great place to have (well, okay....and poke....) a little fun. And there are webhosting services that didn't want a piece of THIS traffic?

What? Was it owned by Rupert Murdoch?

I thought it was great that the porn side was back to halfway working right in recent times. (Counts, Votes, etc...) There's a great deal of entertainment to be had there, even if it's necessarily less contemplative. The eye candy is really the least of it. (The social anthropology of observing one man's treasure being another man's annoyance was where the real fun was I thought.) It got out of hand by my tastes from time to time, but that's extemporaneous art for you I'd wager........

Maybe the vote thing is a good thing. The autoloading heaps of similiar pics is tiresome, regardless of subject.

The Plus side seems less political now. I think there's a palpable fear that the Dogs of War have now been well and truly unleashed and things (The Dow Jones notwithstanding, as all has gone according to plan) could genuinely be well be out of hand, no matter who tries to put Pandora back in her diplomatically trussed chastity belt. The bill for the war is being tallied (secretly) and will be served at the table of the next administration (whoever they are) as the deadbeats hit the door. There is no free lunch and the redistribution of wealth to the very richest few percent of the US population is just the first of a one-two punch that isn't going to be pretty.

The 613's could wind up being the Fibber and Molly of the 21st century.....

Or not.......

My faith in my own ability to prognosticate is seriously shaken. Pessimism and Cynicism need a new rubric of measurement. All of the old ones are broken now.

Keep up the good work.

We had to pay for a few months of hosting with the above mob, instead of just throwing that money away we've decided to use them to host all the actual images/thumbs. We're currently purchasing our own hardware to host and run the database and php of the site.

If people notice broken images check where the source of the image is coming from.

If it's images.plus613.net that's the same box as is hosting the php/sql (so you shouldn't see broken images legitimally).

If it's from images01.plus613.net it'll be coming from servage and let me know and i'll investigate.

Hey Klown, I'm having trouble using the "search" feature.
It returns an empty set each time.
Never happened before.

We're currently moving the site to another hosting provider. Once the move is complete you will be able to upload/post again. Should only take a few hours.

We have been paying a stupid amount a month for the last year or so for dedicated hosting. We tried moving the site into a virualised hosting enviroment without success. So now we're going to split the sites so images is in the virtualised enviroment and the php/sql is in alot smaller dedicated hosting setup. Hopefully this should half the cost. Just means alot of fiddling but as stated before it's this or going offline.

We don't want to burden members of the site with costs, me and pulse are happy to cover this. However if it means we can 1/2 our costs with a few hours downtime it's definately something that's going to be investigated.

Ok so it looks like thumbs are broken for some reason or other.. and if loading old urls you get 404.. sigh.. i'll try and get some time to fix this in the next 24 hours.. doing so not would probably be a bad idea..
