Strangely not a million miles different in the end.

Trying to decide what to replace my wife's car with this year. I like the look of the new A45 S. Hard to justify it though. It's about the same price as the Supra (just more practical and faster). And simply more than we need. The A35 is a bit more reasonable, but also not as fast (but then the A250 she has now is frankly fast enough most of the time). Maybe a Tesla model 3? Seems interesting. New 2 series is due out.. next year? I think.. but I want it now.

Maybe just keep what we have and buy a cheap (used) little fun blaster. 86/BRZ? 370Z?

Tough decisions.

Or... both of you go work in the UK next year and make sure you get a chunky car allowance.

Yeah. We've done the UK thing though. I dunno. It'll probably be a job bloodbath next year there once covid dies down and brexit fully hits. Also we just bought a house, haven't even moved in yet. At the moment I'm happy just sticking to my job I think. Clicked over 10 years last week (though 7 as a contractor so doesn't count).

You don't want to be doing the transmission in the A250 4matic.
If you've done 100K already sell it.

Nah nowhere near. It's just hit 30,000.

That's the main issue, we do no mileage. I drove back to Melbourne last night for a few days, came down in the Cruze. It's a 2010 manual Cruze (willing to sell if anybody wants to buy); it's done 30,000km too. 3,000 per year! It's insane. I think my last service was the 200,000km service based on time.
