I used to worship Mondrian. Grew out of it. The trouble with looking at his paintings now is that you have to forget the entire history of art an images in the 20th century.

I've got picture that looks just like this hanging on my refridgerator. My 9 year old daughter made it.

Your nine year old daughter made a painting that looks like this because Mondrian did what he did. One hundred years ago she would have made a very different picture.

when people say 'it's just a bunch of lines and colour' they forget that 100 years ago this was shocking to many people

i went to his exibit at the kimble in fort worth, it was awesome. he didn't just paint colors and lines. this is some of his later work. look in to it.
