Every now and then beast actually shares a morsel of truth in something he says. It's true enacting sweeping health care reform was a campaign promise and that many supporters are behind him in now supporting it.

What's also true is that public opinion was against the resolution voted upon last sunday. Many among the democratic party who single handedly obtained the majority needed to achieve approval in the House were also against it and had to be bribed to acquire the necessary votes for its passage. Special deals had to be made with labor union groups, drug manufacturers, health care provider (industry) groups and others in efforts to get these groups behind the support of this legislation. And ...... that an even larger share of the population polled in the days since this legislations passage are now against the bill and that this majority is growing almost daily now as more and more of the actual details of the overall causes and effects this legislation will have upon us as a nation, cost wise, care wise and tax wise are revealed.

Though this piece of legislation rode along a decidedly bumpy road towards passage, all the while consuming nearly every available iota of legislative energy in both houses of congress over the past 14 months now, even with the economy steadily declining, unemployment steadily increasing, home foreclosures increasing as a result of both, illegals still sucking away at the government teat (which continues to shrink), many inane comments were traded back and forth on both sides of the political fence as each side tried to move their points forward, one in particular stood out so starkly that I literally saw red every time I heard it again.

When the Speaker of the House said "We have to get this legislation passed so we can understand what's in it." I could hardly believe the sheer audacity of her statement. That alone stands out as the most inane idea I've ever heard regarding any piece of legislation, but being stated in regard to a bill designed to take over control of 1/6th of our total economy while at the same time destined to effect every single citizen in the US in relation to one of their own very private concerns, how they will relate and work with health care providers from that point forward, I was absolutely appalled angry

That gets to me as well, as well as the fact that everyone will have to buy insurance even if they just can't afford it or go to jail.
