The second part, what you recognise, is the Roman salute - the Nazis adopted
it. The Romans had another salute with the right arm across the chest. I don't
recognise touching the chest above the heart and I'm not liking this. It's not
Trump but Elon Musk I'm not liking. He looks as if he's been told to do it.
Australians have seen this before: from David Oldfield. He never performed a
salute, but, as a Liberal Party stooge using its polling data whilst one of the
founding members of another political party, One Nation, he confidently and
authoritatively (in a manner I recognised from an extended family, so he had
been mixing with them, of lawyers on Sydney's North Shore, who are Liberal Party
members), told the media he was "A nationalist and a socialist." Yes,
he said that, as One Nation was becoming popular.
He and two others, disillusioned (like lots of others) members of the Liberal
Party, quit to found One Nation. He was using Liberal Party polling data to
predict the outcome of by-elections and, as it was more accurate than not, he
used it to promote himself within One Nation.
Someone then used a political knifing just before an election in New South
Wales: as a member of One Nation he wrote in suggesting the sacking of the then
State Governor. One Nation didn't announce it, the Liberal Party did, one week
later. The Labour Party Attorney General then went on camera, days before the
voting, to point out the position of State Governor is an appointment by the
Queen (now it's by King Charles). It's true. It was the knifing. The Liberal
Party, under Kerry Chikarovski (whose son Mark has been busted for drug
dealing), marched to resounding defeat. That someone then made what he had done
public, so we can talk about it.

Pro, you're going to lose this. My uncle has Mein Kampf, both commentaries, a
book from Cambridge Press on the link between Darwin and Hitler, another on how
Hitler manipulated the German population by being seen with members of the
Wagner family, a copy of
The Triumph of the Will, that clearly shows the
Nazis were cynical about what they said and the young who believed them (compare
it with what they actually did later), he's a lecturer in Philosophy (ok, that
means he tells fibs, but anyway...) and we're related to Himmler. That's a
Roman salute and the Nazis adopted it. He preceded it with a variation of
another Roman salute and I'm not catholic either, so I don't want a return to
the Roman Empire and absolute power in the hierarchy. You're outgunned.

You know it was a nazi salute because of the fact he hasn't said "don't be
a fucking idiot, I don't support nazis". Wouldn't have taken much to at
least feign a little bit of humility and say "that's not what I
meant". All he said was his opponents "need better dirty tricks"
and even that took more than a day. It's not like he has access to a media
outlet to make a statement or anything.
The German's certainly think that's what it was.
And even if it wasn't, he'd certainly know how it would be taken. After all,
apparently he's a genius. Just ask him.

The Roman salute was widely used in Italy by Benito Mussolini's Fascist Party,
before later being adopted by Adolf Hitler in Germany.
Stroppa later deleted his post, Italian media said. He later posted that
"that gesture, which some mistook for a Nazi salute, is simply Elon, who
has autism, expressing his feelings by saying, 'I want to give my heart to
you'".

I just read all that since my last post and needed the laugh. Pro, you can
obviously do some research (I think you proved that on another post or two
before), but step back and look at it from a top down point of view. There are
only two reasons why you would do that: as a rallying call for National
socialists or to drive people away. The latter is why David Oldfield said he

The Roman salute was consigned to history. It was revived and is now
despicable. It symbolises absolute power in the hierarchy.
