It was probably Winston that coined the phrase Nazi because it was never used
until the final year of WW2.
Maybe he could not pronounce Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei.
Although some Austrians may have referred to it as the Nazi party, it only
really became a derogatory term once there was a chance to beat the mutha
fuckers. Before that people were too scared to slag off the nationalist in
Germany.

I understand it differently. National Socialist Nazi, International Socialist
Communist - the communists were against the war and supportive of Hitler until
he invaded the USSR - that it then became an insult, and they haven't gotten
over the betrayal.
You'll notice how quiet on the subject the third branch of socialism is: Fabian
socialists, who don't follow Hitler or Marx, but Robert Owen.
