Sadly, it seems she's being fired for failing to change gloves in between her
searches of the 2 ladies and not for the fact she publicly humiliated these 2
innocent women and did so in absolute violation of their rights

The punishment doesn't fit the crime. She should be prosecuted along with the
male deputy and the shift supervisor. Maybe the axe hasn't fallen all the way
yet.

Unfortunately, unless one of the ladies chooses to instigate a civil suit
(which I believe has already been done), in which case all parties would likely
be named, this will be the extent of the Highway Patrols reprimands of anyone in
this matter.
This of course means that if she was ordered by a superior officer to undertake
these actions as she claims, she's quite simply being served up as a scapegoat.
And ... had this not made national news it's unlikely any action would have been
taken against any of the officers involved

Firing her on the glove technicality is a lot easier than arguing if the search
was wrongful or not, it's a black and white case then, the other option involves
a lot of people arguing if it was justified or not.

The female cop is being criminally charged with two counts of sexual assault
and two counts of official oppression. The male cop is charged with misdemeanor
theft for confiscating one of the women's prescription hydrocodone but isn't
getting fired. Perhaps he should be charged with possession of a controlled
substance as well. And fired.
This kind of shit rarely happens in Oregon. Less people means fewer assholes.
One reason that I live here.
