Fuck that, where's the siren switch?
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: August 26, 2012 08:18PM
It's the ejection button for Fossil.
Siren controls are usually mounted at the bottom center of the dash.
Oops, I was thinking of police cruisers, sorry. I used to install that crap in
cop cars along with all the electronics stuff and they were added after
manufacture of the vehicle, not so in fire trucks and ambulances. I still got to
install the radios in them though
In the previous picture you can see the black siren and lights switch panel in
the center of the dash.

before this joke goes any further, i had the traction control on, so....

Oh come on Floorboard_Digger, play along ya sour-puss. You must be getting old
and cantankerous like some of the rest of curmudgeons us are. It was inevitable
joke material and he knew it.
I just read there have been problems reported with Ford traction control acting
up and causing random uneven braking without even stepping on the brakes even at
low speeds. Maybe that shit got wet in the rainy conditions and contributed to
the accident you had. Yeah, that's the ticket...

it sure was an extremely strange occurrence to go damn near sideways all of a
sudden and not be able to correct it at all.

Do some research. Call your lawyer. It's Toyota time in Ford country... maybe
it's another conspiracy.
Awww... Man up and shake it off ya fuckin' crybaby!

i never denied that Ford parts were made by several companies. it's the nature
of the auto manufacturing beast.

Meh, I did battle with my Laser today and it was Laser - 1, Kim - 0. I think
the ECU is tits up in it. Took it out, opened it up n it smells like crispy
electronics although there's no obviously fried components on the board. The
nerve of that shit only lastin 20yrs!
BTW, happy BDay fossil
Gettin closer to your handle by the day

As you know Kim, you can't fix an ECU.
For $20 some neighbourhood kids could get you one.
Mrkim Report This Comment Date: August 27, 2012 11:07AM
Yeah I was hopin maybe it was just the common 3 capacitors that are known to
take a dump and puke their lil guts out onto the circuit board, which is
repairable, even have a spare set of 'em, but that dudn seem to be the case.
I have a spare ECU buried somewhere in the 100 or so 18gal. plastic tubs of
Mitsu parts in my shipping container, but I haddn come across it yet in my
excavations.
The version of this ECU comes from the early days of OBD1 and when I looked it
up last night it appears the Laser is different from the Eclipses and Talons,
which surprised me.
For a mere $250 I can snag one from the parts house but I think I'll keep diggin
before just ploppin down 250 bones for somethin I KNOW I have .... somewhere

My first car in 1990 had points.
I upgraded to a home built electronic ignition and it was the most reliable car
I ever owned.

The caps don't always show visible signs when they fail and if they are radial
caps (lead out of one end) the bulge and leak might be hidden under the bottom
of them, so if you want to try replacing them anyway and see if it works.
