I really dislike HDR images. They're supposed to capture more of the natural
properties if light but they look disturbingly un-natural.

I agree with you. They don't look right or natural to me either. I think HDR
photography probably has scientific uses but not for this stuff.

I think it verges on making everything cartoony.
When we were looking to buy a house a year or two back all of a sudden the real
estate agencies around here discovered HDR photography. Yes, with a hint of it
it can really highlight the colours etc of a place, but they were slapping it on
and it made everything look like shit
It's stopped happening as much now, I think people started to question why the
places looked nothing like the pictures, and why they needed trick photography
to make them look good in the first place....

If you slack asses pretending to be webmasters/programmers put the beers and
the bongs down for long enough you might be able to come up with a voting system
that means something. I know, that just means more work. Then the complaints
come and then more work (that is, if you give a shit about it). So you just cut
to beyond the chase and right to the crash and burn and say fuck it. Am I right?

The problem with a voting system that means something, is we'd need voters to
pull their fingers out and vote for things
You guys are great and all, but there's like 6 of you that actually vote
Looking at the 'top list' right now, the #1 picture has been voted on 11 times,
and down to a massive 3 votes on the 20th image.
That's in the past week if I recall. Makes it hard to do anything automatic, and
we did always want quality on the front page of the site, as that is still what
50% of people land on. The other 50% come in via an image directly.
If we allow all you hoodlums to choose what's on the front page, there goes the
other 50% of the traffic
I do want to do some development on the site, but DK was always the coder and
he's off .. I don't know doing what. Not plus613 work that's for sure
