Amphicar. Saw one in the Silver River at Silver Springs, Florida when I was about 8 years old and about crapped my pants 'cause I thought it was so cool.

Used to see one from time to time when I was a kid cruisin around here in Dallas, but what was really trippy was seein a couple in one headed out into the harbor in Duluth, Mn.in theirs. They had the convertible top up and the windshield wipers just a flappin as they were ridin up and down the 3' high waves in the channel headed out towards the main harbor

It was an older couple, just happy as clams, wavin to us all on the big harbor cruise boat we were on when we passed 'em in the channel

I remember seeing 2 different ones around town when I was a kid...
