My first time seeing a trap door spider in action. Pretty amazing IMO.

I'm with you MrKim. We live in a very old house. It's got cracks, needs to
be weatherized, ect. Every summer we get crickets in the house. I hate
'em.

At least every decade we are hit with an unusually heavy cricket population
here in Texas. 3yrs ago it was so bad in our shop building it was incredible,
they were everywhere! We started usin bug bombs twice a week in tryin to get rid
of 'em and I would have to spend an hour the following mornin to sweep up the
1-2000 dead ones, but it never seemed to put much of a dent in the problem and
they just kept comin!
Finally we found they were nesting under the slab foundation of the building and
attacked the nests themselves which eventually solved the problem.
A nasty side effect of a cricket infestation is that the damned things STINK
too, It took weeks to get rid of the smell even after we got rid of the
crickets

Cricket don't bother me, it's the damn roaches which come from the neighbors
sloppy houses that bother us. We have tried everything to get rid of them but
no luck. I do believe those things can survive a nuclear explosion.

Diatomacious (sp?)earth or boric acid compounds (Roach Proof) are the only
viable weapons I know of for roaches.
Diatomacious earth is really cool stuff and can even be added to your pets food
to help with preventing or getting rid of worms. It's made of finely ground up
sea shells and it's like walkin on razor blades to all your unwelcome "bug
buddies"

I have tried boric acid and it works for a while but I have to keep putting it
out because my neighbors can't keep their places clean. I can't find the earth
stuff.

Home depot, Lowes, or a pool supply store ...cheap by the ton.

I will try Lowes but the people who work in this one don't know their ass from
a hole in the ground.
