We have no mountains in Florida so around here the same animal is called the
Florida Panther and they are pretty rare. I've never seen one out in the wild
but I once came across a very fresh paw print in some mud that was obviously
feline and as large as the palm of my hand - too big for a bobcat. I didn't
stick around.

"Be Large"
How am I supposed to do that if I'm 5'1" and 85 lbs?
"Be Large. Shout"
I guess you're screwed if you're a deaf/dumb midget.
"Keep children close".
You can always use them as a human shield or throw them at the lion as a
diversion.
"Pick up children without bending"
Why? Do lions not enjoy "bent"children just as much as an
"un-bent" one?

Cougars are no joke. Here is many a harrowing tale that might make newer
outdoorsy types a bit more aware conscious of their surroundings.Something so
simple as a good pocket knife, bush machete lol or gun might save your bacon.
