I've tried out the civilian L82 version on several occassions, and can say that it has no more recoil than a big game hunting rifle. That's because it has a superb bolt design and gas operating system with a very effective recoil buffer. BTW, those rounds cost between $5-7 each for match ammo. The gun itself about $9,500. A casual plinking gun it isn't.
