one of the gay guys i work with says that if you repeatedly call a straight guy

This cartoon is a great example of the Democrat mindset. Take from those
willing to work for their own and give it to those too lazy to do it for
themselves. I feel sure most Democrats don't see the Orwellian New Speak of
"redistribution of wealth" for what it really is : taking from those
who've worked for it and simply handing it over to those who haven't.

I suppose it depends on the context it's done in Dingo. Anywhere but
politically, givin away stuff you don't own is viewed as theft and I think you'd
be hard put to find anyone thinkin this concept is anything like fair. Most
folks will likely say they prefer to keep what they work for and should they
decide to give things away that they should then be in charge of who they deem
deserving of the fruits of their labors as a freebie.
But, in the realm of politics, Dems use the concept of New Speak to term this
same action as "redistribution" of wealth, services, etc.

What you don't understand GAK is that while sure we pay taxes, and under either
type administration, the difference though is the Dems are always much freer
about the amounts and whom will get all the lovely governmantal freebies they
hand out. Democrats are almost always the ones to foster legislation for
"social programs", many of whom are direct handouts with no required
work on the part of the recipient, but all comin right outa the back pockets of
John Q Public, whether they agree with it or not! They're also the champions of
the "redistribution of wealth" BS, basically takin from those that
work and giving it away to those who don't
