Woberto that's a long ways from the biggest gar ever caught! My dad and I used to hunt 'em from a canoe with our bows and these things can get HUGE !

That's freaky, where do you find them?
We have Barramundi over here, best eating fish in the world but not even half the size of that one. You have to compete with the crocs to get one though.
I have caught hairtail over here in Sydney (I moved back a few months ago) which is kinda like pike and gets that long but they are skinny and weigh only 10% of one of those beasts.

The only place we went was a river and some of the ones I saw there were like 5-6 feet ! They're a trash fish though, nobody eats 'em so we just pulled the arrows out and let 'em go
