I don't know much about prozac though what I do know suggests it could probably
help me, but I don't like messing with my brain chemistry 'cause it's already
screwed up enough on it's own. Found out a long time ago that self medication is
more trouble than it's worth, too.

Prozac is an SSRI; Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor. When the brain
produces too much serotonin (a neuro-transmiter) certain brain cells re-uptake
(re-absorb) the excess. SSRIs are designed to block the re-uptake process. They
work very well for a lot of people, but they aren't really exactly sure how it
works. On the other hand they make other people worse, especially in teenagers,
they can make them suicidal. If you don't really need them it's best to stay
away from them.

I've been taking small daily doses of Zoloft for a couple months. It works in
a similar way to Prozac, but it doesn't "drug you out".
I feel much more alert and energetic these days, and I'm more productive at
work. I've also lost a considerable amount of weight.
If depression runs in your family, you may have inherited abnormal brain
chemistry, and drugs like Zoloft and Prozac can be a great help -- but everyone
is different, and no drug is "one size fits all."

SO, SO True! I have been on Effexor for years, whenever I've gone off I
spiraled down into hell again. It was easy to be "off" while I was
pregnant, I guess it was the hormones, but post birth was a bitch! I breastfed
for nearly 15 months before I finally decided it wasn't worth it!
Back on and happy again!
Some green now and then helps too LOL

I find self abuse brings out the more charming side of my personality. besides
life is more interesting when you present arterial lasserations to your fellow
members of society. They tend to pay more attention to you in longer durations.
