Where I live, between 7 AM on March 1 and 4 PM on March 2 gasoline prices went
up 16% to 18%. They never had reached Trump's delusionally low numbers though
they were at some of the lowest in a couple of years.

Only a few % of world supply comes out of there. And considering how much oil
US and Israel are going to burn, the price should be going down. Solar is still
a delusion in our lifetime.

Solar and wind (which is a product of natural solar activity) are more
efficient and, for all practical purposes, eternal. Fossil fuels, burning things
for energy, is inefficient caveman technology using finite sources of fuel. Oil
prices are determined by the world market while wind and solar can mean energy
independence right down to the individual. I just saw this this morning: [

Just saw this little tidbit. [
youtube.com] I can remember fuel shortages, fuel rationing, and reduced
speed limits in the 1970's. Are you ready for that, Woberto?

Renewables are the logical future, no doubt. The delusion is thinking it can
happen now. It's a 100 year plan and if we all get on board and aim for
practical milestones, we will get there.
I live in the Top End so shortages are a way of life. Eventually a lack of
diesel will fuck it completely up here however. I will be OK.

We won't get there if all these dumbfucks who want to walk away from it have
their way. If it advances as quickly as computer technology has we might yet see
it in our lifetimes. When my father was born horses were the main form of
personal transportation, the roads were mostly dirt messes, and automobiles were
for the wealthy who could hire people to tend to them. A couple of weeks after
dad entered the world, Ford Model T's began rolling off the assembly line making
cars available for average people and the infrastructure and tech followed as
demand grew. He lived long enough to see the moon landings, the space shuttle,
and the dawn of home computers. Despite your MAGA buddy naysayers, Woberto, the
demand and technology are increasing even if it's China leading the way because
Trump is ceding U.S. innovation for a quick buck.

It's almost impossible to wrap your head around but some mathematicians out
there can probably do it for us.
If a solar panel was magically manufactured, then we have already won.
But the materials and the energy required to make a solar panel make it a net
loss every time.
You might as well try and invent perpetual motion. It ain't gonna happen.
BUT we won't be able to do without it in the future, when the dinosaur juice
runs out.
We will then have a few hundred years to figure out the next thing to replace
copper, silver and gallium arsenide.
So I am all for adopting renewable energy but I refuse to sacrifice my current
standard of living.
If you think that is selfish then you are a fucking communist.
Or a lefty lib-tard that does not need to work to live and therefore has plenty
of time on their hands to tell other people how to live.
