I'd probably go on a holiday to somewhere like this.

I would. Take the wife and kids, wade about in that shallow water, all phones
off. No news, no stress. That's the way it used to be and it was normal.
I was talking today about how things used to be. Someone's whipper snipper has
a microprocessor in it. What? It runs a sensor that won't let the motor start
if it finds any old carbon in it. it's over sensitive. He takes off the
exhaust, uses a blow torch to burn out the old soot, then puts it back on. Then
it starts.
I'm sure this flaw in design is marketed as a feature, solving a problem that
only matters if you're glued to the news - that's propaganda. Everyone
seemingly has their own example of how mad this world is. So why not get away?
Someone else said the road her friend lives on now has 'glamping', people from
Sydney spending lots of money to get away, whereas she's saving money and not
turning on a television. That's also a type of getting away.
Why not solve the problem? Politicians don't want to: crisis is opportunity.
They want crisis. Political parties are toilet trained by the media to do that.
Crisis headlines create anxiety, they scream at the politicians to fix it,
people are conditioned to be glued to their screens and read the papers, looking
at the adds.
