I work for a family hardware store, so I say something similar all the time: If you put this place out of business due to theft, the ENTIRE COMMUNITY suffers.
I don't have a huge problem with stealing from the big boxes but when you rip off off the little guy, the little guy gets hurt.

Also, unsure what election we're voting against criminals in, since they're doing the crime. Totally get it that law enforcement keep getting kneecapped in enforcing laws -- "make crime illegal again" as the signs said a month ago -- but I'm pretty sure few of them mind not having to chase down badguys and risk themselves.
