The astute observer will notice that the belt housing cover is all banged up and bent out of shape...
The box that it was shipped in had some damage and some of the styrofoam inside was broken up too,
which would suggest that the package was at some point dropped and damaged...
I called the shipper and explained that the cover was bent up but the drill press functions just fine, the damage is merely aesthetic..
I asked for a replacement cover and was instead issued a full refund

The ease of insurance comes and goes, peaks & troughs, all that jazz.
Shipping and freight are usually on the low payout spectrum so I think you've done well there.
Just goes to show, if you don't ask you don't get.

Nice one.

We got 20% off a washing machine with a small dent on the side recently. We were offered either replacement or a discount. Given its in a cupboard and can't even be seen I was more than happy with the discount.

Free would've been even nicer

Holy shit PJ is that like a 1" chuck in that thing?

The belt cover on mine looked worse than that after the 1st time I moved and it's seen several more since that one.

All in all I'd say you scored big time buddy

5/8" chuck if memory serves.. 2MT spindle of course..
