Never been.
Melbourne is a bit the same. When I was growing up, everywhere was half an hour
away. You could cross the city and it was 30 mins. Then 45. Now 60. Unless it's
peak hour.
It's got so busy and lack of transport infrastructure (both public transport and
roads) investment has really hurt. The government has been on a multi billion
dollar splurge for the last few years with some major investments, but everyone
agrees they're 20 years late.

I lived there once, it was crappy back then.
Two years ago I stayed in Elwood (where I used to live) and had to work on site
at Altona North.
That's 20Km or 12 miles.
Took me 55 fucking minutes!

You don't go over the Westgate at peak hour. Even against the traffic. It's
just not worth the hassle.
Once the new tunnel is completed it .. well, it MIGHT improve. But who knows.
I'm pretty sure at this stage every day we have, the completion date moves back
2. As I said, everything is 20 years too late.
We sold out of Elwood just before Christmas in 2018. Only just bought something
new, move in ~about a month. The traffic doesn't really bother me, I ride to
work most days and we're moving to South Melbourne so I could walk if I wanted
to; but given I barely bothered to go to the office before all this covid shit
kicked off, I can't imagine increasing my presence afterwards.

Ah yes, the flood.
I lived in Wave Street.
Couldn't figure where they got that name from being a bay and all.
Then I witnesses the first torrential rain and wallah!
Waves in my street!

Hehe yep.
We looked at buying... I want to say 16 Wave St perhaps? A few years ago.
Anyway, we fully renovated the house, changed the floor plan around, completely
gutted it and sold. And the new place we've bought is nowhere near a flood zone
