I scored a digital TV converter and made the antenna out of junk parts and six wire coat hangers. We get a whopping 9 channels for free now. I'm not that much into watching TV and we haven't had cable in years, but it sure has made my kid and wife happy.

I suppose it depends how you're thinking about it. I meant that it is independence from paying for cable TV.
