No TV here but radio and internet fulfill my daily tolerance of bullshit.

jgoins Report This Comment Date: January 10, 2013 12:19PM
I watch a lot of TV but I choose what I watch and none of it is mainstream
news, just too biased.
woberto Report This Comment Date: January 10, 2013 12:33PM
A good bullshit filter is essential but it takes years of experience (and
mistakes) to get one working just right.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: January 11, 2013 02:12PM
I have a good bullshit filter and it took many decades to perfect which is why
I never watch mainstream news and only watch Fox and Friends on Fox News
channel, they are fair and balanced.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: January 11, 2013 03:31PM
Fox IS mainstream news, clown. It is also rated as one of the most conservative
news outlets there is in polls.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: January 11, 2013 06:04PM
it is the ONLY Conservative news group out there.
pro_junior Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 12:44AM
they just say they are 'fair and balanced' it doesn't mean they actually are...
jgoins Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 11:50AM
Fox and Friends morning show gives both sides of an issue and other news
stations only give one side of the issue. Some of the shows on throughout the
day are conservative in nature, which is why I mostly watch in the mornings
only. I suspect most of you who think it is just conservative never watch it
because it doesn't go along with what you want to think. I have been a
registered democrat all my adult life but have never voted along party lines and
because I vote for the people I like rather than the party, I also watch what I
like instead of being fed the party bullshit.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 02:46PM
if you are , have or will vote Repugnant or Demochimp, you are part of the
problem.

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 04:50PM
Not voting democrat or republican does not automatically exempt you from being
part of the problem.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 05:51PM
it damn sure does.
i hate to ask what your solution is to the 2 party monopoly being rammed down
our throats is.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 06:09PM
I don't have a solution and never claimed that I did.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 06:40PM
then how can you claim that "Not voting democrat or republican does not
automatically exempt you from being part of the problem"?
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 06:51PM
Because it doesn't. You just don't see the problem the same as I do. Polarized
thinking is part of the problem. It isn't just about republicans vs democrats,
it is about conservative vs liberal and you are definitely involved in that. As
long as people keep playing us vs them the two party system will remain in
place.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 06:57PM
i am an Independant, how does that involve me in Demochimp vs. Repugnant?
you do not have the answers, nor do I, so claiming one is wrong and the other
right is naive to say the least.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 07:07PM
Yeah, but I didn't say that either.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 07:37PM
you claimed i was not exempt from being part of the problem. that insinuates
that i am also incorrect.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 08:06PM
I don't think you are getting what I was trying to say. It is not about wrong
vs right either. It is about how we THINK. If we have polarized ourselves then
we are contributing to the problems that polarized thinking produces in society.
That isn't in and of itself a value judgement of right or wrong. Your mind
creates the insinuation because it is already polarized and those are the terms
you think in. It doesn't mean it is right or wrong. Those are fields you fill in
on your own.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 08:29PM
the relative immediate reality is wrong, the problem is that thee is no
immediately obvious alternative. i am as polarized a person as you will most
likely ever encounter.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 09:00PM
Your perception that "the relative immediate reality is wrong, the problem
is that thee (there) is no immediately obvious alternative" is based
entirely upon your "i am as polarized a person as you will most likely ever
encounter" mindset. You don't see that though and you can't see it due to
the mindset you have confined yourself to, so you will remain stuck where you
are and you will never see any possible solution until that mindset is done away
with. What happened to United We Stand?
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: January 12, 2013 09:15PM
if your perception of our current reality is anything but we are fucked unless
something is done ASAP, you are contributing to the false reality being rammed
down our throats, but hey, the sheep are the ones who will be promoted to
positions of power.

Ah well, nevermind then.

There is no immediate solution and very few if any long term solutions. Doing
away with the 2 party system really does nothing but maybe hide the candidates
beliefs from the public. With no visible party affiliations it will make
holding certain congressmen responsible for failing their job.
Not even a violent overthrow of the government will be a viable solution because
after it is over we will be right back to the same problems we have now. We
would still have the same massive debt and the same problems with elected
officials we do now the only difference will be the amount of dead we incur
during the take over.
Maybe we should "try" to get everyone in the country to sit at home on
strike for one day to show the government we want a change. Even that would be
impossible because there would be no way to get enough people to agree to do it
which would even be noticed. The only way to make any noticeable difference
would be for the entire US to unite together and show solidarity that we want
change and that will never happen.
So I guess I agree, we are fucked and we will just have to buckle our seat-belts
and see what happens and do our best to deal with the consequences of our
actions this past election.
