maybe at this angle you wouldn't see it but seems like you should be able to see some steam from the catapult...also, no visible exhaust from the engines...

You're right and I retract my comment. It is not a launch anyway. The plane is closer to the camera than the ship is.

The hook isn't down so it wasn't a recovery wave off. I doubt that it is a launch from an angle deck cat since the afterburners don't appear to be lit, so it's either touch and go practice or a very low fly by.

Full flaps and landing gear down - I'm guessing it's the touch and go practice.
