When Anthropologist and Historians look at the fall of the United States, they
will find that it started at our greatest hour. All the things that our bringing
down the U.S. now started then. The military/industrial complex, which President
Eisenhower warned us about. The Generals and Politicians that were corrupt and
easily bribed were put into place. Not to mention the FACT that we lost the very
best men we had in that war. And what took over is second class and and for the
most part criminals, and they our still with us today. (Hell they don't even
care if they get caught lying or breaking the law anymore, nothings going to
happen to them.)
quasi Report This Comment Date: May 22, 2012 01:02AM
It started in 1913 when the Federal Reserve was created which eventually
allowed spending of money that was/is printed out of thin air to finance the
military industrial complex and devalue the dollar to almost nothing.

MEh, I don't think the USA is any more likely to "fall" than any
other country with a federal reserve system or extreme capitalism.
Changes are needed everywhere.

I tell you what, let's just get rid of our military, all our guns, take down
our government, remove our financial system and everything else you guys think
is bad then just sit back and see what comes out of the ruins. Just try to
imagine which country or entity will come in and rule us. If you think we the
people will govern ourselves then you are deluding yourselves. Every man for
themselves mentality will take over and it would be pure chaos.

quasi Report This Comment Date: May 22, 2012 12:56PM
No one is saying we should do away with our military or our financial systems
but we do need to shut down most if not all of our foreign military bases and
cut out foreign aid to rein in this informal empire we've built because we
cannot afford to continue financing it with money that has only the theoretical
value of monopoly money with nothing to back it up but IOUs. The federal Reserve
was ostensibly set up to stabilize the economy but it does that by adding funny
money into the system which causes gigantic destabalizations and rampant
inflation. The free market isn't really free and the banks will go on doing
stupid things because they have minimal risk thanks to the Federal Reserve being
there to always bail them out. The banking industry is the only business that
has this socialized system to step in if it makes a stupid business decision -
does your business have such a "safety net" that is guaranteed with
taxpayers' money? The banks need to sink or swim the way any other business
does, and our military needs to protect our nation the way every other military
in the world does.

If we closed all our military bases around the world where would we put all
those military in this country? We don't have enough bases here to house them
and if we muster them out unemployment will skyrocket. If we put them on our
borders like some people would want then we would have to build more bases in
this country to house them which would cost even more money, thank you Bill
Clinton.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: May 23, 2012 02:27PM
There are a lot of closed military bases around the country. Finding places to
house military personnel (not detention centers F_D!) is not the big issue. We
have obligations under several treaties to support many foreign governments with
military presence. Those have to be addressed first. We have to figure out how
to extricate our country from being the global police force. Just pulling
everyone out all at once is not going to work.
quasi Report This Comment Date: May 23, 2012 02:51PM
The military personel now stationed overseas could be put into the reserves and
sent home while drawing full pay and even with the cost of that pay we would
save the costs of maintaining those distant bases, transporting materials &
personel to & from those foreign bases, and the bonus pay that is now quite
rightfully given to our armed forces while deployed overseas. They could remain
in the reserves subject to recall in event of war or use the remaining time of
their enlistments to find work and then take early mustering out if they find
work. Some or all of the savings could be used to reactivate homeland bases now
closed, expanding housing at or near current bases, and perhaps creating new
bases. Once the homeland expansion of facilities is completed the savings will
apply to the general budget. Of course the politicians, instead of using that
money to work on balancing the budget and bringing down the national debt, would
probably treat it as a windfall and blow it on pork barrel projects.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: May 23, 2012 03:36PM
detention centers could be easily converted into housing centers
instead of closing them down and gathering dust once people find out what the
government is really planning and vote them all out Blurf.

I think you have some good points. I seriously doubt that will happen but then
I didn't think I'd ever see the Berlin wall come down either.
quasi Report This Comment Date: May 23, 2012 04:24PM
If we don't soon extricate ourselves from supporting those other countries with
military presence on their soil (which in many instances causes resentment of
the US by the general population of those nations) those treaties will become a
moot point as we'll be unable to continue there once our economy and then
society collapse under the burden of continuing those foreign programs while
simultaniously taking care of our domestic issues. If we continue down the path
we're on, we won't be able to do anyone any good. I don't believe the US set out
to become an empire, and I don't think of it as a true empire, but we've become
an unintentional empire and empires always become spread too thin and then fail.
We're not in the cold war anymore and it's time to concentrate on taking care of
things at home instead of defending the rest of the world against an enemy that
isn't there any more. We can maintain a strong military without intruding on
other sovereign nations and perhaps improve our relations with those nations in
the bargain.

Somehow I'm not all that alarmed that the CDC which is based in Atlanta has a
pile of 125,000 polypropylene burial vaults stockpiled nearby for disbursement
after a catastrphe or multiple catastrophes. The morons who made the video
didn't do any real investigating about what they were looking at or how they are
used, couldn't even be bothered to look up who the chairman of the armed
services committee was at the time of the supposed speech, but that's OK because
the "prophet" said so.

I have read and heard and seen a lot of Alex Jones' stuff. I am not your
average uninformed person. I don't just dismiss things as just another
conspiracy theory either. I look into things a lot and do not explicitly trust
all or any sources for that matter. It isn't that Alex doesn't have anything
real to look into to start with but that he consistently goes off the deep end
with everything. As soon as a bit of information is available he tries to turn
it into a government conspiracy and cover-up. That's what he does. I guess that
is his job, huh?
