Actually, the main point of my trip that day was to see if that small passage into the main channel of the river existed - couldn't really tell from the aerial photo, but I suspected it - but I didn't go through because they were there and I didn't want to drive them off from their breakfast. This is at the far end of the "Black Lagoon". [plus613.net]
