Oh BTW, the science article I got the pic from said nothing about climate
change or global warming. It was about research trying to figure out where all
the charged electrons in the earth's radiation belts go when the sun blasts out
like it has been lately. It was thought that most of them were swept out into
space but now they're saying it looks like a large amount of them come into the
upper atmosphere and stick around for a while. That's what the pic is supposed
to be showing, all that energy showing up as heat.

That is so hot I feel like blasting out some electrons.

I know what you mean, I haven't shot off ions in eons.
I think it's a pretty neat looking picture. I'd like to find a higher rez copy
of it.

I did find one but be forewarned Quasi, it's 3,000 × 2,625:

...took to the count of 18 mississippi to load for me
pro_junior Report This Comment Date: February 02, 2012 04:20AM
that was in firefox, chrome took 25 mississippi...
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: February 02, 2012 04:37AM
I thought Chrome was supposed to be faster than Firefox.
Took me 25 using FF.
I was kinda disappointed with the hi res pic. I thought it would be much
clearer.

Maybe I'll try it sometime when I want to tie up my computer all day.

20sec on Chrome.

Don't bother Quasi. The quality is not worth it on this one.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: February 05, 2012 11:01AM
It only took 3 seconds on Seamonkey with cable modem.

PJ is a soft cock
jgoins Report This Comment Date: February 10, 2012 12:02PM
speedtest never made sense to me are larger numbers faster or slower here?
pro_junior Report This Comment Date: February 10, 2012 05:48PM
hahaha COMCAST is the soft cock, not me...
pulse Report This Comment Date: February 10, 2012 08:55PM
Bigger numbers for speed, lower numbers for ping are both better
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: February 10, 2012 09:37PM
damn, i think i may be the soft one.

Got me beat as well
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: February 11, 2012 03:31PM
I'm sure Pulse cheated. Those numbers are typical of a hard-wired 100Mbs
connection on a LAN.
pulse Report This Comment Date: February 11, 2012 11:00PM
The ping and the upload speed would be terrible for cheating with a lan
connection
Actually to be honest I'm disappointed it wasn't higher, especially the upload
speed. There's four speedtest servers in Melbourne, I tried all of them and
Telstra gave the best results. I might've got better speed from a Sydney one
though.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: February 11, 2012 11:41PM
So you're a cheater with a bad cable.

GAK67 Report This Comment Date: February 12, 2012 11:36AM
Not great speed, but almost at the 90th percentile for NZ - one of the
disadvantages of living in the middle of the ocean.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: February 12, 2012 12:06PM
for me mine is pretty good since I am not paying for the highest speed so I am
happy with what I have. $100 a month is just too much to pay for internet in my
opinion.
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: February 12, 2012 04:05PM
My speed isn't that great either but it is usable and that's all I care about.
jgoins Report This Comment Date: February 14, 2012 12:16PM
Maybe if I were downloading movies I would want a faster connection but I am
not so I am happy with what I have.
pulse Report This Comment Date: February 14, 2012 08:35PM
Alright, alright fine

Those ones above were at work.
Usually I can clock in faster than this, the ping is about right but I actually
sync at 22mbps down and 2mbps up so it's not quite representative of the speed,
but it's fast enough.

I never used to think a keyboard could have too many functions until I saw that
keyboard, way too many functions and too high a price.
