It does seem odd that she professed to have been so proud to be asked to sing
the National Anthem since it was a song she'd proudly sung since she was 7yrs
old .... and then blow the lines to it. Somethin about that just dudn quite
jive

No excuses for her flub but it is a rather dorky-ass song. But hey, it's OUR
dorky-ass song! I like America The Beautiful a lot better and think that should
be our anthem.

Words aside it's supposed to be one of the most difficult songs to sing even
for professionals. Everyone should be proud of their National Anthem, even if
Roseanne is butchering it (that beats them all).
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: February 08, 2011 10:03PM
either sing it right, or fuck off.

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: February 08, 2011 10:53PM
Ok. Let's hear your rendition F_D

Mrkim Report This Comment Date: February 08, 2011 11:06PM
Whether you might like to hear my rendition of it or not, I at least know the
damned words to it
Having sung many difficult pieces .... in another life time .... I would not
begin to claim the National Anthem is a difficult piece of music

BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: February 09, 2011 01:24AM
I clearly was addressing F_D out of fun. I can sing it too and I do know the
words. I can also sing the Spongebob Squarepants theme, does that count? I think
what's-her-tits is an overrated slut anyway and it obviously wasn't meant in
defense of her at all. Lots of people think the Star Spangled Banner is a crappy
song and I think so too and I'm entitled to an opinion. At least I didn't spooge
some Black Eyed Piss on F_D's hard drive when he wasn't lookin' did I?

I'm sure F_D could muster up a better rendition
than the overpaid biatch did anyway.

i must retract my blaming of Kim, i checked my records and now realize that it
was my own fault.
one of my hobbies is replacing lyrics with my own, but rarely inflict them on
others.

Ya know, every time I see this pic I can't help thinkin' that if there were
swastikas on those red flags she could be givin' the old zieg heil. Now that
would really piss me off.
Mrkim Report This Comment Date: February 09, 2011 07:02AM
Once again, a great case for a sarcasm font.
Though there's plenty of stuff I could sing, since my balls dropped and took my
voice 2 or 3 octaves with 'em, nobody wants to hear it, so ... With music,
seems like those that can, do, and some of us are just left to appreciate and
collect it instead.
Though I think I know lotsa people, I'll hafta say you're the 1st I ever heard
say the Star Spangled Banner was a crappy song blah, but you're right, you can
own that.
For myself, I guess I've never pondered the melodic merits of it. Bein the
national anthem of my country makes it kinda moot. Hell, I can even get bleary
eyed watchin other people sing THEIR national anthem .. so long as it ain't
Mescans doin it ... in Texas
I'd bet fossil could make a good run at it alright, but I think it might come
off soundin more like "Froggy Went A Courtin"

Most National Anthems sound best when sung by a crowd. And mostly that's at
sporting events. USA is a great one, Italy's is awesome but obviously I think
Australia's is the best.
By the way, is it "the American National Anthem" or is it "the
national anthem of the USA"?
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: February 09, 2011 02:12PM
Maybe crappy was a bit harsh. It's just not my favorite patriotic song and I
think there are better. there has been at least one effort in history to replace
it with America The Beautiful as out national anthem.
quasi Report This Comment Date: February 09, 2011 02:25PM
It's been my understanding that the tune was borrowed from an English drinking
song.
fossil_digger Report This Comment Date: February 09, 2011 02:41PM
my voice is way too deep to sing the anthem and it is
NOT a song open to "artistic
interpretation", sing it right or sing along with someone doing it right

Yes it was Quasi. The poem was set to a British drinking song that was popular
in America at the time.
I agree Fossil. I hate it when they do that vocal acrobatics shit.
Mrkim Report This Comment Date: February 09, 2011 05:33PM
'berto, the title is actually "The Star Spangled Banner" though it's
generically referred to as just the national anthem

woberto Report This Comment Date: February 09, 2011 08:01PM
Our National Anthem was revised a few years back to make it more PC.
The opening line,
Australia's sons let us rejoice...
Was changed to,
Australians all let us rejoice...
Some feminist bitch is laughing herself to sleep every night after pulling that
one off.
Mrkim Report This Comment Date: February 09, 2011 08:22PM
Sounds kinda like the coup the religious folks pulled off here back in the 50s
by having added ", under god" to the line in our United States Pledge
Of Allegiance that had previously simply said "One nation". The
version we had used for over 150 yrs. just didn say enough for the holier than
thou crowd.
While I don't give 2 shits when churches have signs all over town tellin me I'm
"Lost if I don't accept salvation" or "Doomed to burning for
eternity" if I don't accept faith in their god/savior/what-the-fuck-ever,
that shit just rolls off like water on a ducks back. But, when they feel a need
to interject their shit in our Pledge Of Allegiance, that's just straight up
horse-shit
