Here is a novel idea, maybe the Palestinians should stop killing the Jews.

If the Palestinians stopped fighting, we would have peace in the Middle East.
If the Jews stopped fighting, they would all be killed.

^^^^^ Exactly the reasoning insuring peace will never be attainable ^^^^^

jgoins Report This Comment Date: June 07, 2010 11:24AM
Peace will not be attainable as long as the Arab world wants Israel dead. They
do not want to coexist they only want to destroy the Jews.

Isn't it amazing how 2 "religions of peace" manage to keep such a
large segment of the planet as a whole continually stirred up over their
religious based squabbles regarding a spit of land that would fit within the
borders of my home state with tons of room left over.
I guess I should be thankful that all these religious folks are
"peaceful". No tellin what the world would be like if they
weren't so peaceful

Yeah but people get pissed off when you walk in, steal a chunk of land and put
a city there that nobody wanted, full of people nobody in the region likes.
Just saying ...
jgoins Report This Comment Date: June 08, 2010 11:04AM
That spit of land was nothing but sand that nobody wanted when they moved in.
The Israelis turned it into a productive spit of land. All of this is simply
sibling rivalry between the descendants of Abraham.

This is all just another shining example of the dysfunctionality of religion in
creating dissention and hatred between people.
If religion was taken out of the discussion these dissimilar peoples might well
be able to get along with each other. As it is, their philosophies regarding
one groups imaginary friend compared to the other groups imaginary friend just
keeps enough shit stirred up to keep them all at each others throats as they
plot and plan each others demise on an ongoing basis.
If these people put anywhere near the same amount of energy in trying to simply
understand one another as they do in hating each other because of their
dissimilar theological views they'd easily find more similarity than differences
and would likely get along side by side just fine.
Just my opinion, but I own it :
Religion is the single most divisive force
on the planet in regards to peace among all the peoples of earth.
Here's an analogy to bring home the futility of such BS. I'm an Intel guy, and
use Intel chips in all my machines because that suits me and lots of other
people do too. There are also AMD guys and gals who feel the same way about
their chips. Both beliefs are held for various reasons, whether logical or not,
each group still embraces and holds their reasoning as correct.
Since these 2 groups believe differently if I used the same logic as some
religious folks I could be held in high regard by members of the Intel group if
I were to sabotage or blow up AMD plants or kill AMD users just because they
don't believe as I do.
Then members of the AMD group would set about plotting the demise of the Intel
groups and blow up Intel plants, etc. ad nauseum.
I feel like I could easily surmise that if such a "war" were to be
waged between the Intel and AMD groups this would be roundly spoken out against
by most everyone outside those 2 groups as total folly but .... when you do the
exact same thing with regards to religion you'll find people willing to throw
$$$$ your way to help support your fight and even join in to help you become
victorious in championing over the other "group(s)"
Would there be any difference in the logic of chip users hating and killing each
other over their differing philosophies than what goes on all across the planet
regarding differing religions? To me, the answer would be a simple and emphatic
NO

As I have said before, it is not religion alone which causes these problems.
It is the people who support the religion. From what I have been seeing the
major problem is the people who support Islam in the region. The Israelis live
and work closely in Israel with moderate Islamic peoples. If we could get rid
of radicals from all religions the world would be much better off. It was
radical Islam who attacked us on 9/11 and it is radical Islam who is attacking
Israel as well. Israel has religious neighbors who have given up the fight
against them and now live in peace with Israel but radical Islam will never do
that.

I doubt he could teach me anything about religion if that is what you mean. I
am not against religion but I am against organized religion. I am against
anyone telling me what the Bible means or what I should believe in. I am
against anyone telling me how to believe in God just as much as anyone telling
me not to believe in God. Now what will he teach me? If he will teach true
freedom then I will support him. If he is going to teach history in any way
different then what I learned or lived through then I don't need it.

If the Jews disarmed there would be genocide.
