About 25 years ago I was traveling this lonely stretch of road and came upon some cowboys on horseback driving a heard of cattle down the road. Place hasn't changed much. Lots of praries where cattle can graze. After Texas, Florida is the largest cattle producing state in the US, or at least it was just few years ago.

This road is straight as an arrow for about 40 miles with few signs of habitation along the way. Bet you have a lot of that in TX.

more than you can imagine. the stretch from decatur (nw of Dallas) to new mexico....ZZZZZZ witchita falls...zzzzz amarillo....zzzzzzz new mexico....zzzzz 3-4 hours between each nothing but flat desert. in the winter it's like the freakin north pole! 40-75 mph winds, snow, ice. why would someone wanna live there?

County road 74 in Glades county, not far from Rte. 29 & US 27.
