try to learn American English. Their kids go to our schools and I
see them learning our language quite well, they're very smart kids and they go
home and teach their family. I've met more Mexicans in America that speak better
English than I have met Americans that speak Spanish as well.

Well if I was to learn a new language it would be French either maybe German.
Sometimes I think I should learn Spanish just to find out what they are
jabbering about around me at the fleamarket. I would never use it to talk to
them just to eaves drop on their conversations.

don't make it known to hispanic people that i know spanish because of the same
reason. if they think you don't understand them they'll speak their true mind to
each other, then you've got 'em.
as for french...i use it a handfull of times per year.
german even less.
Italian about the same.
if you don't speak spanish and live in the U.S. you are doomed to be ridiculed
and talked about behind your back for life. don't look at as learning a language
just to appease them, look at it as a nessesity to know what the're true
feelings are.

Ohh, I forget to mention. My family and myself have been sponsers for asians
for many years. Laotians, cambodians, vietnamese to name a few. At my high
school, the asians win hands down valedictorian, salutatorian every year. I
wonder why the poor mescans can't seem to get it together? All we see in south
texas is signs is spanish, banks in spanish, and plenty of radio stations in
spanish. Trust me, the asians have got their shit together. God help us!!!!
