That's a radial engine. Radials were used on many airplanes made before the jet
age and I think the M3 tank of WWII used a radial engine.

Also a Siskorski Helo did also. WOW! what a novelty. One must keep 9 gallons of
oil in it at all times.

It's an interesting-looking bike, but I'd bet that it gets hot reaching over
the engine to grab the handlebars. It's also probably top-heavy and loud.
Still -- kudos to the builder for a study in feasability and artistic
expression.

Very nice idea, FYI the engine is a R2800 Rotec radial engine used in homebuilt
aircraft..
