The Discovery Channel has some interesting doco's on aircraft carrier development including an episode on the development of one particiular US carrier ad its sea trials.

USN Aircraft Carriers are amazing ships. I am honored to have served on two of them; the USS Midway and the USS Kittyhawk. Simply amazing machines! They work so well!
