Simplicity .... a floppy drive I never use, a fan controller to keep it all
cool and monitored, USB card reader for the camera & a DVD RW drive.
Everything I need :>

How many gigs that thing have?
mrkim Report This Comment Date: September 18, 2006 11:08PM
Spec wise it isn't all that impressive these days. It's runnin on a 1 gig
Thunderbird processor and another gig of DDR memory. I just slipped in a new HD
last weekend (and why I had it up on the desk instead of beside it where it
"lives"

which brings my HD space up to just a tad over
1/2 a terabite at 550gigs.
With it runnin Ubuntu 6.06 for an OS it rocks along a lot harder than most
computers I've seen with 3.0+ gig processors runnin Windoze :>
The next upgrade I do will likely be a new dual core 64 processor and a good
motherboard along with a better (more functions) video card which means I'll
pretty well gut it all & donate it to my daughters computer.

well mr kim if you install a sata hd you will need a floppy for the
drivers..

Hmmm ... maybe. With Linux you can't use the damned Windoze based software
anyone supplies with the hardware anyway, so ...
In 3+ yrs now I've never used the floppy drive though it does make a handy dust
catcher. I've been really tempted to just yank it out and put the cover plate
in the hole but I figure as soon as I do I'll problee need the thing for
somethin :>
