ok - pythagos theorum (basically it tells you the long length of a right angle
triangle based on the length of the other 2 sides):
(side 1 squared) + (side 2 squared) = (side 3 squared)
so for this example:
(3*3)+(4*4)= 25
and the square root of 25 is 5cm.
thats pretty heavy for a sunday night after a bottle of wine.

actually the correct theorem is (leg 1 squared)+ (leg 2 squared)= hypotenuse
squared. It's a little more specific.
