No, It's "herba mate". It's like a tea. In Argentine I saw many
people drink it ...everywhere and always!!

In Peru it is common to drink tea with Coca leaves in it, and they leach a
small amount of cocaine into it. Tourists are encourged to drink it to prevent
altitude sickness. Herba Mate wouldn't happen to have coca leaves in it, would
it?

It's the same in Bolivia. They also chew the leaves. You see them drying by the
side of the road everywhere. You can easily buy teabags of Coca Tea, though we
didn't try to bring any home. Thing is, in that form it is no worse than tabacco
or alcohol. That's why some of them get annoyed when people say they shouldn't
grow it. The trouble starts when they try exporting it...
BTW, it doesn't really stop altitude sickness - it just makes you care less
about it!
