Two-stage octagonal to round barrel with swamped muzzle; stamped with maker’s
mark and the date "1594" on the top flat. Flat lock plate with domed
wheel cover; engraved cock with toothed jaws (engraving worn); sliding pan
cover. Fruitwood full stock inlaid with bone panels depicting dueling cavaliers
with a castle in the background, a lion, and floral decor (several panels
replaced); wood carved in relief at the barrel tang with floral decor and
scrolls. Large ball pommel on butt, with geometric and floral panels in bone.
Lacking ramrod. Overall length 19 ½". Very good restored condition with
minor losses to bone panels.
