what is pathetic is the comment on this view!
if that is precisely the way you think of France, you just should take it for
yourself, and don't say so unadequate confusions! Renault and Citroen aren't the
same at all.

Althoughit isnt very pretty, the Citroen 2CV happens to be just about the most
reliable car in the world. That is a fact.

The funny thing is, this was probably posted by a Yank. Pretty ironic when the
rest of the World laughs at american cars as the shit-piles they are - wobbling,
swaying blob-mobiles, filled with fat carcases, having to slow down to .1mph for
the slightest corner.
In fact, Yank cars are so shit that the govt over there have to tax imports to
the hilt so that anyone over there will actually buy the home-built heaps ;-)

So let me get this shit straight. If you can't make great cars, then your
country sucks ?
You are a dumbass.

I've worked on British and German cars for almost 30 years, and can tell you
just how much money and effort it takes to keep these on the road, so don't get
me started!

The French suck, the cars have nothing to do with it..

Yes, they suck... pussy much better than you 238240.

Hell, the British never did make a Jaguar with a reliable electrical system.
Triumphs certainly were no better. Not until Jag was purchased by F-O-R-D did
Jag get one that works. Coincidentally, Ford now also either owns outright, or
owns major portions of Land Rover, Aston Martin, Volvo, and Mazda, as well as
Jag, of course.

Truth is, folks..that everything we drive, ride in, or fly are now global
products, with hard components and electronics coming from everywhere.
It would be cost prohibitive to engineer and manufacture every single part
in-house. Look at european and asian cars these days, and you'll find parts with
recognized names like Bosch, Lucas, Delphi, Siemens, Nippondenso, Tokico,
Nissin, Kayaba, Showa, Toyo, and a host of others. The fuel rails in many US
built Japanese cars are manufactured by the same US outfit's subsidiary that
makes fuel control systems for our aircraft and even the space shuttle!
The pistons in your Honda are made by Arias, the aluminum wheels on your
Cadillac CTS are made by Enkei, and the shocks on your Corvette are made by
Bilstein...all global products. Even our military aircraft like the F-16 is
licensed and manufactured overseas by the Japanese giant Mitsubishi Aerospace,
for the JSDAF using their domestic components.

I have seen 2 pimped 2CVs and they were way cool. 2CV is not shit and a look
at the history of this car will tell you why. Ok, so production went on longer
than it should as regards safety and that, but they were never shit.

One time, I saw a 2CV get pissed and wreck a whole town!
mkcerusky Report This Comment Date: October 03, 2005 09:39AM
2CV has always been a great car, and at least it doesn't have automatic gears:
I have been driving an american american car in USA, and having no manual gears
it was a complete shit, I would like to see those cars going in the streets that
we have here full of curves and up hills, they would be beaten by an Ape
Piaggio.....and if you don't know what an Ape Piaggio is, look for it on the
internet.
Truth_from_Georgia Report This Comment Date: October 03, 2005 04:05PM
2CV is cheap, gets 40+ miles to the gallon and is able to be completely taken
apart and put back together in half a day. What is there not to like? With gas
prices the way they are today, we will be importing these soon enough. I just
paid over $35 to fill up a Toyota car with a 12 gallon tank. Brutal.
Anonymous Report This Comment Date: October 03, 2005 05:00PM
2cv was good for its purpose,4 million french farmers cant be wrong.it is shit
now of course and thats why citroen stopped making it over 10 years ago.
John_Stone Report This Comment Date: October 03, 2005 07:14PM
Just an cultural point, the 2CV resembles the Volkwagon Beetle very much. Both
cars were driven by similar people in different lands: college professors,
left-of-center types, eclectic individuals. Interesting, non?
