The last one is average sized, known as common.
Not good to hit one in the car, result is like hitting a land mine.
The larger ones are known as Hairy Nosed and they dig BIG holes.
Fossil, I'm surprised you didn't read about the 2 tonner!

The critter in the original photo is a capybara, native of South America and
the largest rodent. They get to be about 4 feet long (1.3m).

i've rethought my position, and would like to be a Wombat puppy rehab guy.
when they get well.....then they go to a nice zoo home, and i get another puppy
to play with.
